Tae-Hyuk Kwon
Prof. Tae-Hyuk Kwon is a full professor in the Department of Chemistry and the Dean of the College of Natural Sciences at UNIST. Before joining UNIST, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Melbourne, Australia, under the guidance of Prof. Andrew B. Holmes. He earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Suwon University, Korea, and both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Seoul National University, Korea, under the supervision of Prof. Jong-in Hong. His current research focuses on the development of wave energy materials for photoconversion devices, catalysts, and bioapplications. He is particularly interested in the field of photo/sono dynamic therapy, investigating the generation of reactive oxygen species even under hypoxic conditions and exploring their cell death mechanisms depending on the targeted organelle.
