Sheona N Innes
I am currently a tenure-track post doc in photobiology working at the Institute for Plant Science, Faculty of Bioscience at the Norwegian University of Life Science (NMBU). I hold a PhD. from NMBU in plant production physiology, during which I worked on water relations, stomatal morphology and function, and the role of abscisic acid in plants as a function of growth conditions. My current position involves studying the effects of light on all aspects of plant growth - from molecular to production level, including the effects of light on the interactions between plants and both abiotic and biotic factors. My recent and current work involves optimising light conditions for growth of cucumbers in greenhouses at high latitudes using blue and far-red light, as well as working on the use of algae as a biostimulant in plant production to contribute towards circular economy in wastewater treatment.
