Julianne C Nayar
Julianne Clare Nayar is a second-year PhD student at the University of Sydney, under Dr. Katie Dixon in the Sunlight and Cancer Group. Her studies focus on enhancing protection against ultraviolet radiation (UVR)-induced skin carcinogenesis. Specifically, her research investigates the role of active vitamin D compounds, such as 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25D), in protecting against UVR-induced skin damage. She is particularly interested in phosphorylated Cyclic AMP-regulatory element-binding protein (pCREB) as a potential predictor for the effectiveness of these photoprotective agents in preventing photocarcinogenesis, aiming to improve the identification of suitable treatments for long-term skin cancer prevention.
