Herbert van Amerongen
Herbert is head of the Laboratory of Biophysics (Biophysics - WUR) at Wageningen University & Research since 2002 and since 2007 until the beginning of 2024 he was also the head of the Microspectroscopy Research Facility (Microspectroscopy Research Facility (MSC) - WUR) at the same university. The research in his laboratory focuses on functional imaging and spectroscopy of biological systems and food in vivo and in situ. The main part of his own scientific research concerns light harvesting in photosynthesis and its remarkable variability throughout nature.
