Kurt Q Lu
Dr. Lu is the Eugene & Gloria Bauer Professor of Dermatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is a physician-scientist with expertise in tissue injury and regeneration, inflammation, and wound repair and is the Director of the NIH-funded CounterACT Center of Excellence at Northwestern University. His research is focused on modulation of innate immune cells in the skin. Employing animal models and clinical trials, his work on mitigation of inflammation has provided new insights and therapeutic options for acute skin damage resulting from UV& sunburns, chemical skin burns from chemotherapy treatments, and radiotherapy-related skin breakdown.
